Yoda-speak Translator

Convert any English sentence into the famous Object–Subject–Verb word order of Master Yoda. "Powerful you have become." Type below — Jedi wisdom, you shall receive.

How it works: we split each sentence on its first auxiliary or main verb (am, is, will, have, do, know, see…), then swap the two halves. "I am happy" becomes "Happy, I am." Sentences with no clear verb get a small Yoda flourish appended.

Why does Yoda talk like that?

English is an SVO (Subject–Verb–Object) language — "I eat the apple". Yoda's signature speech pattern flips that to OSV — "The apple, I eat." OSV is rare but real: it appears in some natural languages (e.g. Xavante in Brazil) and gives every sentence a poetic, sage-like emphasis on the object. This translator approximates the effect with a tiny grammar heuristic — no AI, no server, just letter rearrangement in your browser.

FAQ

Is it perfect Yoda grammar?

No — real Yoda lines are written by humans for fun and rhythm. This is a quick approximation that catches most of the flavour. For best results, write short sentences with one clear verb each.

Does it preserve punctuation?

Yes — sentence-ending periods, exclamation marks and question marks are kept and used to split the input.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. All conversion happens in your browser.
